See what former students say about us
Nathaniel Charlton
"I loved the Cologne Business Program because I was able to take upper division business courses during the week and then use the train or one of three discount airlines to travel around Europe for the weekend for under 100 euros."
Participant in the Cologne Business Program, Fall 2005.
Tiffany Rugg
"The CDC is in a great location. Learning about European history becomes exciting when you can look out the window and see historical artifacts that are relevant to topics discussed in class."
Participant in the Cologne Business Program, Fall 2005.
Tiffany Windle
"During this trip, strong friendships were made and lifelong lessons were learned. The long plane ride was well worth the experience! I'd go back in a heart beat!"

"I always thought that studying abroad should be a requirement for graduation from university. However, I didn't understand the scope or importance of it until I actually did it. Germany will change your life...I promise.
It's so important for students today, especially those who want to enter into an increasingly global business environment, to have an experience like this."
Participant in the Cologne Business Program, Spring 2004.
Dan Toomey
"Choosing to go to Cologne with AHA was probably the best decision I have ever made. The memories that I made and the experiences I had are priceless. I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to experience all that Europe has to offer."
Participant in the Cologne Business Program, Spring 2004.
Lauren Sheafe

Steve Cullen
Studying abroad in Cologne, Germany was a last minute decision brought on by my need to gain global prowess in an ever changing world. The only way to get an edge on my career, I felt, was to get out of the USA. The Cologne program touts the ability to meet real-world professionals, build an international network of contacts, increase intercultural awareness, and improve foreign language skills. These focuses became truer than I ever could have imagined.
We didn’t just get up every day from our beds, go to school, and go back home afterwards. Every day was exciting and new; every day was an adventure to someplace unseen by my eyes before. I documented these adventures in a detailed fashion because I want to remember everything I did. Someday, I can look back and be in Cologne again. Before you decide to go somewhere else, take a look at my blog and pictures at www.stevecullen.de. It will help you get a sense of the journey to see how much fun I had.
Happy Travels,
Steve Cullen, Cologne Business Program Fall 2006
Evelyn Seitz
My name is Evelyn Seitz. I live in Ithaca, Michigan, USA. My husband, Steve, came to CDC Cologne through Central Michigan University to study German and business courses. I accompanied him so that I would have a chance to tour Germany and other European countries. When we arrived at CDC I was invited to join the beginning German class; I thought I would try it out for a few days to see if I liked it. I was the best decision I could have made. My professor, Dagmar U, was a wonderful and patient teacher. Since our class size was small she was able to give us each more attention and help us with any particular problems we were having. The German I learned helped give me not only a better idea of how to speak the language, but I am now better able to understand conversations and even watch TV or read the newspaper.
Everyone at the CDC from the professors to the administrators is very nice and ready to give assistance with any aspect of your time in Cologne. We had opportunities to go on many city tours, our guide (and also Steve’s German professor) Hartwig Pruessman, was so interesting and informative that we learned much more about the city than if we had done the sightseeing on our own.
We not only became friends with the members of our own group but met many students from all over the world. Talking with them and learning about their home countries added one more dimension to the program that we had not anticipated.
I would encourage any student who is thinking of studying abroad to look to the CDC. They will find their time there a fulfilling experience.
