Short-Term Study Tours - with special focus upon your needs

These two- to three-week faculty-led study tours focus on specific academic topics and studying in depth the field of interest, along with an extensive program of visits which will give students experience outside the classroom. The Carl Duisberg Campus is flexible and has the resources and contacts to set up study tours in Germany and Europe in various fields such as business, engineering, humanities, natural sciences and arts and communication.

Within Europe, distances can be covered by bus. These study tours will be mutually arranged depending on subjects and locations. Experienced staff will direct and accompany these study tours. Examples of Study Tours:

Brussels and the European Union

Learn and experience how the different legal bodies of the EU (Parliament, Commission and Council) work and interact in Brussels. Meetings with representatives of these EU institutions will give a close insight in their daily work and their policies. Besides the current European bureaucracy, you will visit the offices of political parties, member states, industries and lobbies which all try to influence the work and legislation of the European Union. Beijing Study Tour

Become familiar with important facts about culture, society, political system, economy and education in China. You will visit relevant institutions and companies in Beijing and make many cultural excursions including a 2-day-trip to the ancient city of Pingyao. [more]

IBS International Business Systems

Research trip to experience all aspects of running a large company. Comparison of operating procedures in different industries such as automotive, chemical/pharmaceutical corporations, food/beverage companies, banks, and insurance companies within Europe. Meetings with executives and plant tours. Students will learn how numerous variables such as location, infrastructure and culture affect business strategies of large corporations.

Possible destinations: Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Switzerland and the Czech Republic.

The European Heritage

This special trip will familiarize with many major Western European cities and their rich collections of art and cultural monuments. The historical role of these cities in building Europe will also be discussed. Cities visited: Cologne (Germany), Bruges (Belgium), Paris, Dijon (France), Geneva (Switzerland), Milan, Venice (Italy).
