






German Language Examination for University Entrance (DSH)
A DSH exam serves as proof of German language skills for those foreign students who wish to study at a German university. This exam can only be taken at university. Carl Duisberg Centren will prepare you for the DSH exam. In Cologne and Dortmund, Carl Duisberg Centren German students can take the DSH exam at universities that we co-operate with. The exams are developed and carried out by the individual colleges and universities according to a federal framework. These exams may vary in their level of difficulty depending on the university and the date of the exam.
The exam consists of a written and an oral exam. The written exam is divided into
- Understanding and working with an spoken text
- Understand and working with a written text and scientific language structures
- Writing a text according to set demands.
The exam can be successfully completed with the results DSH-1, DSH-2 or DSH-3. With the results DSH-2 or DSH-3 the student has proof of the necessary language skills and these results entitle the student to study any give subject. With the result DSH-1 the student may only be allowed to study certain subjects.
