To help promote language-learning objectives on a lasting basis, you also have an extensive program of leisure activities available to you.
We organize weekend trips, welcome and farewell parties and sightseeing tours for you; we also arrange programs through which you can meet Germans, e.g. families or school classes, etc., along with group jogging, football and table tennis tournaments, basketball, soccer, swimming, group outings to concerts, theater presentations, museums, excursions to sights nearby, e.g. Trier, Saarburg, Saarschleife, Heidelberg and tours of various firms.
In Saarbrücken itself, you can take advantage of local movie theaters, theaters, festivals, concerts and clubs. This is rounded out by numerous regional celebrations such as the SR2 radio station Kultur-Picknick, the Saarspektakel, the Altstadtfest in the Old Town of Saarbrücken, and the Alt-Saarbrücker Christmas Market or Christkindl Markt during the Christmas Season. Each year, the "Max-Ophüls-Award" film festival attracts numerous visitors to the area, as does "Perspectives" - the only Franco-German festival for the stage.
You are welcome to go for a stroll along the river Saar in Saarbrücken, or in the forests of the Saarland (Saar-Wald-Wanderwege). In the vicinity of Saarbrücken, you can also pay a visit to the regularly changing exhibitions at the "Völklinger Hütte", a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.
