Hanover, capital of the German state of Lower Saxony and an important location for trade fairs (including the CeBit and Industrie fairs) offers you a variety of cultural attractions: Opera, theater, concerts and numerous museums, among them the renowned Sprengel Museum, as well as festivities and numerous open-air events.

Hanover is also known as the "City in Green": the world-famous "Herrenhäuser Barockgärten" gardens, the "Eilenriede" city forest extending to the downtown area, the newly designed Zoo and Lake Maschsee offer an escape from city life.

You will also find excellent excursion destinations and hiking opportunities in the immediate vicinity of Hanover: even with public transportation, reaching the Heide heath, the Harz mountains as well as well-preserved medieval cities such as Celle, Goslar and Hamelin, is quick and convenient.
